About me

Having lived in India, South America and London, I know from experience how differences of language and culture can impact on communication and relationships. Following a degree in Social Administration and Sociology, then time spent delivering and managing health and social services in the United Kingdom, I decided to devote more time to my interests in language and culture. I now have a Master's degree in Translation and Linguistics, and want to use translation to make a small contribution to business growth, commercial expansion and improved standards of living for people in southern Europe and Latin America.

I am currently a Career Affiliate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL). By clicking on these links you can find my CV, the ITI Code of Conduct which I am committed to, and the ITI's model Terms of Business which I have adopted. If you are thinking of paying for a translation you will also find the American Translators Association Guide Getting It Right very useful.
